The Riviera Elite Standard

Westward, to Marseille’s Old Port

From Nice, the drive to Marseille takes roughly two and a half hours via the A8, which crosses the Esterel hills and the Var before reaching the city through Aix-en-Provence or Aubagne, depending on traffic. Whichever your starting point, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco or Nice Airport, a private driver takes you to the Old Port, Saint-Charles station, the cruise terminal or Marseille Provence Airport. The same trip also runs in reverse, from Marseille to the Riviera.

  1. Land in Marseille, sleep on the Riviera

Flying into Marseille Provence Airport, at Marignane? Send us your flight: your chauffeur knows when you land, and you are on the road to Cannes, Antibes, Nice or Monaco once your bags are off the carousel.

  2. Seven seats, one vehicle

A family trip, or several couples together? Nobody has to ride separately: the V-Class takes seven passengers in one go. It also suits two people heading off on a cruise with big suitcases, as a sedan fits just one large case and a carry-on.

  3. A meeting in Marseille, with a clear mind

A business appointment, a train to catch at Saint-Charles? On the way, you make your calls or go over your files in peace; the road, the traffic jams on the way into Marseille and the parking are no longer your concern.

  4. Anywhere in Marseille

Whether you are headed for a hotel by the Old Port, the airport at Marignane, the cruise terminal or the TGV station, you get out right at the address you gave, and the pickup happens at the hour you agreed on.

MARSEILLE THROUGH THE YEAR

What draws people to Marseille

Christmas santons, match nights at the Vélodrome, the Calanques and the MuCEM: Marseille is worth the trip in any season.

  1. December

    The santon fair

Before Christmas, Provence’s santon makers show their new collections of these small nativity figures at the santon fair. A family outing, gifts to bring home: your chauffeur stays nearby while you browse.

  2. Match nights

    OM at the Vélodrome

France’s second-largest stadium by capacity, the Vélodrome has been home to Olympique de Marseille since 1937. You are dropped off before kickoff and picked up at an agreed spot after the final whistle.

  3. In one day

    The Calanques and Cassis

Created in 2012, Calanques National Park is Europe’s first peri-urban national park to cover both land and sea. It takes in the calanques of Marseille and those of Cassis, a small port known for its wines.

  4. Year-round

    The MuCEM and Fort Saint-Jean

Opened in 2013 and designed by architect Rudy Ricciotti, the MuCEM guards the mouth of the Old Port, beside Fort Saint-Jean. Your chauffeur brings you to the museum and collects you afterward.

GOOD TO KNOW

Any questions before your trip to Marseille?

How far is Marseille from Nice by road?

Count on two and a half hours or so from Nice, slightly less if you leave from Saint-Tropez or Cannes, slightly more from Monaco. The price is fixed before departure and does not change with traffic.

Do you pick up at Marseille Provence Airport?

Yes. Your chauffeur keeps track of the actual landing time and is waiting when you come out with your bags, before setting off for your hotel on the Riviera.

Can you drop us at the cruise terminal?

Yes, with all your luggage, in time for the boarding hour set by the cruise line. On the day you disembark, we are there when you leave the ship, and the drive home begins right away.

Is a taxi an option for Marseille?

A taxi can certainly make the drive. The difference lies in everything else: a firm price, tolls included, agreed before you leave; a punctual chauffeur in a suit and tie; from Nice to the Old Port, a brand-new, latest-generation Mercedes-Benz.

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE

Valentin plans your arrival in Marseille

Valentin Sassi founded Riviera Elite Driver in 2016, after a career in tourism and luxury hospitality on the French Riviera. In the five-star hotels and Palaces of Cannes, he learned what great hospitality demands: attention to detail, discretion and the art of anticipation. These qualities have become his signature.

At first the only one behind the wheel, he earned the trust of hotels, partners and loyal clients, then brought together a team of professional chauffeurs who share his vision of the craft.

Since 2023, he has devoted himself entirely to his clients: he personally organizes every journey and coordinates your chauffeurs.

Day and night, seven days a week, the whole team is just a call away. In Marseille, your chauffeur knows the ways into the cruise terminal, the TGV station at Saint-Charles and the airport at Marignane.

The vehicle matters. The people who look after you matter more.
