The Riviera Elite Standard

Ramparts and hills, facing the sea

Behind its sixteenth-century ramparts, Saint-Paul-de-Vence gazes out across the hills; a little higher, Vence keeps its medieval center and its cathedral. The sea glints on the horizon, Nice Airport lies only about 35 minutes away, and your private driver takes every bend of the climb gently.

The hilltop village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, its bell tower and its ramparts
Saint-Paul-de-Vence43°41′ N · 7°07′ E
  1. Straight up from the runway

Business jet or airline flight, your chauffeur follows your landing in real time and watches for you at arrivals; the highway hugs the coast as far as Cagnes-sur-Mer, then the road climbs toward the villages.

  2. The fortified village

Francis I had the village ringed with ramparts between 1543 and 1547. Once you reach the walls, the Rue Grande and its mansions are yours to explore on foot.

  3. Vence, the medieval town

Ramparts dating from 1231, the Place du Peyra and its fountain, a twelfth-century cathedral: a stone’s throw from Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Vence still has the air of the bishop’s town it was for centuries.

  4. Evening tables

A hotel and restaurant since 1931, La Colombe d’Or still displays works by Picasso, Matisse and Miró; over the last coffee, your chauffeur brings the Mercedes-Benz around to the village entrance.

THE YEAR IN SAINT-PAUL-DE-VENCE AND VENCE

From Easter flowers to summer music

A spring festival, concerts under summer skies, an art foundation, a chapel signed by Matisse: the hill country keeps its own calendar.

  1. Easter weekend

    The flowers of Vence

Folk dancing and a battle of flowers: every year, Vence celebrates Easter in its streets. Your chauffeur drops you just outside the old town.

  2. Late July or early August

    The Nuits du Sud

Every summer, the Nuits du Sud festival brings world music to the heart of Vence. When the last encore ends, your chauffeur pulls up for the descent to the coast.

  3. One morning

    The Fondation Maeght

Set apart from the village among the pines, the buildings by Josep Lluís Sert house Miró, Giacometti, Chagall and Léger: a landmark of modern art.

  4. Since 1951

    The Matisse Chapel

Consecrated in 1951, the Rosary Chapel in Vence was decorated entirely by Henri Matisse, who considered it his masterpiece: green, yellow and blue stained glass, Stations of the Cross in ceramic.

GOOD TO KNOW

A question about the villages?

How far is Saint-Paul-de-Vence from the airport?

About 35 minutes, highway first, then hill roads; traffic around Cagnes-sur-Mer can slow things down at rush hour.

Can we have dinner in Saint-Paul-de-Vence and come back late?

Of course: during dinner your chauffeur keeps within easy reach, and afterward drives you to Antibes, Cannes or Nice, however late it gets.

Can we see the Fondation Maeght and the Matisse Chapel on the same day?

Yes, on days when the chapel is open: only a few minutes of road separate it from the Fondation, and your chauffeur waits throughout each visit.

For Saint-Paul-de-Vence, taxi or private chauffeur?

Each terminal at Nice has its own taxi line. We prefer a sign bearing each guest’s name: at arrivals, a chauffeur turned out in a suit and tie; for the drive, a brand-new, latest-generation Mercedes-Benz.

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE

Your stay in the hills, with Valentin

Valentin Sassi founded Riviera Elite Driver in 2016, after a career in tourism and luxury hospitality on the French Riviera. In the five-star hotels and Palaces of Cannes, he learned what great hospitality demands: attention to detail, discretion and the art of anticipation. These qualities have become his signature.

At first the only one behind the wheel, he earned the trust of hotels, partners and loyal clients, then brought together a team of professional chauffeurs who share his vision of the craft.

Since 2023, he has devoted himself entirely to his clients: he personally organizes every journey and coordinates your chauffeurs.

Day and night, seven days a week, the whole team is just a call away. Saint-Paul-de-Vence’s ramparts, the Place du Peyra, the winding road to the Fondation Maeght, the way to the Matisse Chapel: Valentin knows every bend.

The vehicle matters. The people who look after you matter more.
