The Riviera Elite Standard

Val d’Allos and Pra-Loup, two valleys and one ski area

Between the Verdon and Ubaye valleys, La Foux d’Allos and Pra-Loup share the Espace Lumière, 180 kilometers (about 112 miles) of interconnected slopes. From Nice Airport, La Foux d’Allos is about two and a half hours away, by way of Saint-André-les-Alpes and Colmars, on a road that stays open all year. Your private driver picks the right route for the season, every time.

  1. La Foux d’Allos or Pra-Loup: tell us where you are staying

The two resorts share the same slopes, but not the same road. In winter, Pra-Loup takes about an hour longer to reach than La Foux d’Allos: give us your chalet’s address when you book, along with the number of suitcases, skis and snowboards, and we plan the drive accordingly.

  2. Seven seats, and room for all the ski gear

For the whole family or a few friends, the V-Class takes suitcases, boots, skis and snowboards with no one squeezed in, and the cabin stays quiet all the way up.

  3. Through the Verdon in winter, over the Col d’Allos in summer

The Col d’Allos and the Col de la Cayolle stay closed all winter, so we drive up through the Verdon valley, in vehicles fitted with the mandatory winter equipment, after checking road conditions. In summer, the reopened Col d’Allos takes us straight to Pra-Loup.

  4. In the village, at Le Seignus or at La Foux d’Allos

Val d’Allos spreads across the village of Allos, Le Seignus and La Foux d’Allos; Pra-Loup sits at 1,500 and 1,600 meters (about 4,900 and 5,250 feet). Wherever your chalet is, your chauffeur pulls up at the door, and on departure day, they are there at the time that matches your flight.

NICE AIRPORT TO VAL D’ALLOS AND PRA-LOUP TRANSFER

To the Espace Lumière, from the coast or the airport

For a stay, book a transfer to your chalet, whether you fly into Nice or set off from an address on the coast, at a fare fixed when you book. For a day of skiing, hourly service keeps a private car and your chauffeur on site until evening.

  1. A groomed run facing snow-capped peaks Book by the hour

A ski day from the coast

Living on the coast and heading up to ski for a day? Your chauffeur sets off with you early in the morning, waits on site all day, then drives you back down in the evening: the drive becomes time to rest.

  2. High snowy peaks and their glaciers above the alpine pastures Plan your wedding

    A wedding in Val d’Allos or Pra-Loup

For a mountain wedding, we meet each of your guests in Nice as they step off the plane and drive them to the resort; then come the rides between the hotel, the ceremony and the party. Every chauffeur answers to a single contact, from the first arrival to the final drive home.

  3. A wide snowfield below rocky peaks under a clear winter sky Plan your journey

    Straight from the Riviera

No need to go through the airport: from Monaco, Cannes or Antibes, your chauffeur comes for you at your hotel or rental, then the road climbs the Var valley and the Verdon valley. Reserve the ride back along with it.

  4. A chauffeur in a suit takes the luggage of a couple arriving by private jet and leads them across the airport apron to a black Mercedes-Benz S-Class Book your transfer

A fare set before the climb

Enter your chalet’s address: the fare appears right away and stays the same, however much snow has fallen. Questions? Give us a call or send a WhatsApp message, even late at night.

FROM THE VERDON TO THE UBAYE

From the source of the Verdon to the slopes of Pra-Loup

Two valleys, two resorts, one ski area: the road and the peaks both hold surprises, winter and summer alike.

  1. Winter

    One ski area, two resorts

Linked by the slopes since 1977, La Foux d’Allos and Pra-Loup make up the Espace Lumière, one of the largest ski areas in the Southern Alps, reaching up to 2,600 meters (about 8,500 feet). Stay on one side and ski over to the other with ease.

  2. Summer

Lac d’Allos, in the warmer months

In summer, a trail leads to Lac d’Allos, described as the largest natural high-altitude lake in Europe, in the heart of Mercantour National Park: a lovely family outing before returning to the coast.

  3. Year-round

Colmars, on the road to Allos

Before Allos, the Verdon road runs through Colmars, a town fortified since the Middle Ages and listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. The Verdon itself rises above Allos.

  4. In 1975

Pra-Loup, a Tour de France finish

In 1975, a Tour de France stage that started in Nice finished at Pra-Loup: Bernard Thévenet took the yellow jersey from Eddy Merckx there. Above Barcelonnette, the resort also hosted a World Cup downhill in 1980.

GOOD TO KNOW

Any questions before your stay in Val d’Allos?

What driving time should we plan for La Foux d’Allos and Pra-Loup?

Allow about two and a half hours from Nice Airport to La Foux d’Allos. For Pra-Loup, the closed passes stretch the drive to about three and a half hours in winter; in summer, when the Col d’Allos is open, plan on about three hours.

Can we stay in Pra-Loup and ski at La Foux d’Allos?

Yes: the two resorts are linked by the slopes and share the Espace Lumière lift pass. We drive you to your chalet in either one, and in summer, your chauffeur can also take you from one resort to the other over the Col d’Allos.

Why does Pra-Loup take longer to reach in winter?

The Col d’Allos and the Col de la Cayolle, which lead from the French Riviera to the Ubaye valley, are closed all winter. The route then makes a detour of about an hour, already built into the departure time we suggest.

Taxi or private chauffeur for the drive up to La Foux d’Allos?

At the airport, getting a taxi means waiting behind the travelers who arrived before you, with no guarantee its trunk will hold all your gear for a mountain road. Your private chauffeur, on the other hand, greets you at the terminal in suit and tie, your name ready on a tablet, then leads you to a brand-new Mercedes-Benz of the latest generation, chosen to fit your luggage.

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE

Valentin, from Nice to the Espace Lumière

Valentin Sassi founded Riviera Elite Driver in 2016, after a career in tourism and luxury hospitality on the French Riviera. In the five-star hotels and Palaces of Cannes, he learned what great hospitality demands: attention to detail, discretion and the art of anticipation. These qualities have become his signature.

At first the only one behind the wheel, he earned the trust of hotels, partners and loyal clients, then brought together a team of professional chauffeurs who share his vision of the craft.

Since 2023, he has devoted himself entirely to his clients: he personally organizes every journey and coordinates your chauffeurs.

Day and night, seven days a week, the whole team is just a call away. For these two resorts, he tells you which road is open in each season and agrees on a departure time with you, winter detour included.

The vehicle matters. The people who look after you matter more.
